To My Shadow
A conversation with my shadow. Our shadows are an integral part of us. But they do not know us. They exist till we do.
"Who am I, Who created me Why am I the way I am And who are you?" My shadow asks me. How can I tell him, "You are me, Though dark and shallow, More than who I am, Forever to follow." "Forever to follow, You are my shadow In happiness and sorrow, In hope and despair In sleep and wakefulness." "You forever be, An extension of me, Till my last breath, As I stand in bright light, Until it extinguishes in death."

I really like how you’ve made the shadow feel like a reflection of our inner self, always there through every emotion and stage of life. And the connection to mortality in the final lines is so thought provoking. Were you reflecting on your own journey or was it more of a universal idea?
