“Far away to the East, powerless, penniless, helpless, hopeless.” Honestly, I can really relate to that. Some days, it feels like I’m totally abandoned, stuck in this huge emptiness where hope seems impossible to find. It is an emotional roller coaster and feelings are just too much to go anywhere but them pen and paper. Poetry - it knows and it cures somehow <3

But even on the toughest days, a strange voice out of the blue always reminds me that though it might seem like everything is falling apart, reality is often a lot better than we think. There’s always a glimmer of hope waiting to be discovered, after the pouring rain. We’re not alone in this struggle, and brighter days are just around the corner (or so i hope)

I really appreciate how this poem captures the struggle between feeling hopeless and holding onto hope. The way you connected with Zafar’s sadness yet still clings to a sense of optimism, is so moving. Your poem beautifully suggests that no matter how difficult things have become, there is always the prospect of a new and better day!
