Mothers Wait Forever
Since the moment she comes to know that she is becoming a mother, her waiting starts. She waits eagerly for the child to be born and then through different phases of the child’s life till she dies.
Mothers wait.
Mothers wait forever for their children.
She waited for her child to be born when she was pregnant while nature wreaked havoc on her mind and body;
She bided her time to feed her child as it slept, oblivious of her presence.
Mothers wait forever for their children.
When the toddler went to school, she waited eagerly outside the gate till the final bell rang,
And her heart skipped a beat when she saw her kid running towards her with her arms flying.
Mothers wait forever for their children.
While the child grew up as a young adult, the mother stayed up all night, waiting patiently, till they returned home after a night out;
Frequently, she stayed up at the dinner table till late in the night, holding back her frustrations, which melted as she saw her progeny turning up.
Mothers wait forever for their children.
Eagerly, she waited for her child to grow up,
Until her child started life as a grown-up, least she needed her again;
And it broke her heart when the child left home to meet her destiny,
Wishing she could hold on to her a little longer,
But wishing every moment her child gets all that she coveted but could never achieve;
And yet she waited, hoping her child would return to her bosom as a winner, knowing fully well that she might not return.
Mothers wait forever for their children.
When she grew old and fragile, she waited to hear the voice of that child who now has grown up and has no time for her.
She saw her offspring in her grandchildren and waited for the grandchildren to grow up.
Mother’s wait never ends till she breathes her last.
