For Whom The Bell Tolls
A short poem reminding us that we all share our lives and one day, we all have to depart from this life at the appropriate time.
Don't ask for whom it tolls,
The bell tolls for me,
The bell tolls for you,
We all are passengers in the same boat,
Floating in the perilous water of life,
We don't know when the shore will be visible on the horizon,
We drift in the hope,
With the next sun up,
The landfall will be visible.
Each of us has different destinations,
And the shore we disembark is yet unknown,
On different mornings,
When the time comes.
And the bell tolls for us all.
So don't ask for whom it tolls;
It tolls for me,
It tolls for you.
