A Love Song
It is a poem of love proclaiming that a lover would do whatever it takes to make his beloved happy.
No poet am I, No lyrics to write your song But as I see you smile, I write poems long. I don't have any riches But myself to offer, Devoid of all my wealth In my empty coffer. To grant you all your dreams, I wish I were a falling star Burning in the sky For you to admire. I long to be that pendant, On a thin chain, Hanging on your breast, To know your pain. I wish to be those twin sparrows, Playing on your window sill, While feeding them, you forget your sorrows As they sing songs shrill. I hope to be your Shiva, Supine below your feet, While you dance like a wild diva, Destroying the darkness as you create with your beat. I wish I were your handkerchief, That you hide inside your dress, To swipe your sweat off From your tired face. I wish I were a clean glass of water, On a humid day, you crave, To quench all your thirst, As you toil like a slave. No poet am I, No lyrics to write your song But as I see you smile, I write poems long.
